Bio
According to some, I'm avant-garde ;)
I try to stick to software development and engineering topics, often related to application development, but I also shitpost random stuff, occassionally about photography, (usually not more then) react to politics or economics.
My website is https://zlatko.dev but I less completely-infrequently post a photo or two to my photo gallery https://photos.zlatko.dev.
I also used to post at https://pixelfed.social/zlatko, and https://programming.dev/u/zlatko, and I'll occassionally swipe here and there.

Does anybody have some tips on managing notifications on a Mac? I'm... finding the default thing unhelpful and I wonder if this can be improved.

Something just reminded me that I have two fun tech things going on for me.
One is a small thing is that I'm rebuilding my site in astro. Fun new thingy to learn, and a chance to rebuild my site _again_ :)
The other is fun as well. My new job has a beautifully annoying constraint: physically sharding data that logically must be unified. So many interesting problems it brings.
Screw it, I'm rebuilding my website in Astro. It's boring anyway so who cares :/
@kulturpessimist another #fediverse attempt? Hello there!
computers all suck and I want to burn it all and go be a part-time shepherd on an island in mediteranean #rant #macos #doNotBuyAMac
There should be regulation with computing devices AND software industry similarly to med tech: if you sell a series of laptops which is more then like 10 prototypes in 2023 or if you ship an operating system update with more then like 100 consumers, and it doesn't work in a typical home and office scenario, like a docked macbook on a 4k screen or a pc laptop with two monitors or something, your engineers go to jail, your QA people are banned from the industry, your company is shut down and sold off, and your C-level executives are taken out back and shot. #weeklyMacHatePost #macsSuck #whyCantWeHaveNiceThings #iJustWantMyStupidMonitor
Gosh, a floating IP costs 3.57€ per month, that's a lot. Last time I looked (probably years ago), it was 1$ a pop.
I think one of the big "small things" about freelancing is not having too switch computers or setting up docks and stuff at home. I kinda miss that, especially early in the new job, while I'm still learning how to work with the b new company laptop.
