Bio
According to some, I'm avant-garde ;)
I try to stick to software development and engineering topics, often related to application development, but I also shitpost random stuff, occassionally about photography, (usually not more then) react to politics or economics.
My website is https://zlatko.dev but I less completely-infrequently post a photo or two to my photo gallery https://photos.zlatko.dev.
I also used to post at https://pixelfed.social/zlatko, and https://programming.dev/u/zlatko, and I'll occassionally swipe here and there.

Oh, this is nice. A'Bunadh is soooo neat, even when it burns.
Reddit SREs are probably having a hell of a day 🤷
upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: connection failure
OMG I haven't had to look up tar/gzip stuff in years :)
#tar #gzip #neckbeard #rtfmingYourself
Is it safe to upgrade #Fedora to 41 yet? Or better wait until next year.
Hey #Fediverse, what are good @kde -integrated whiteboard apps out there? Something for doodling sketching and jotting down notes and scraps?
#humblebrag
As a techie, it sure feels good when people randomly describe you as "commited to upholding engineering standards" :)
I'm not much of a blogger, but I realized that I had 2 silly lil' posts on my blog, and 15 drafts. I'm gonna try to clean it up a little.
Bleh, an hour of downtime, almost 25 minutes of sqlite3 file 'VACUUM' and my@gotosocial@superseriousbusiness.org #sqlite database still only went from 6.2GB to 5.5GB.
I mean, it's not nothing, but I expected more. Why the hell in the first place does a single-user instance need 5.5GB in the database? I have 3.3GB of media alongside the database, why do I have more text then media? Does GoToSocial save some blobs in the database?
Would switching to Postgres make the database smaller?
Or is this merely a matter of distributed systems, I have a lot of redundant data?
If anybody has even a link to an issue discussing this or something it would be really helpful. I tried searching, but no luck. If I make the time, I'ma copy over the database file locally and try to look into it.
