Bio
According to some, I'm avant-garde ;)
I try to stick to software development and engineering topics, often related to application development, but I also shitpost random stuff, occassionally about photography, (usually not more then) react to politics or economics.
My website is https://zlatko.dev but I less completely-infrequently post a photo or two to my photo gallery https://photos.zlatko.dev.
I also used to post at https://pixelfed.social/zlatko, and https://programming.dev/u/zlatko, and I'll occassionally swipe here and there.

That time when you realize that over the years, as you've been working on once-yearly improvements of your homegrown bash script to do a chore, you developed your own log format.
Somebody did a pretty decent run at 1-billion-row-challenge with node. The author got it down to ~11 seconds (on their machine). Considering how fancy-pants rust etc people are doing it in perhaps 3-4 seconds, I'd say pretty decent.
Nice article about staff/principal engineers:

Speaking of, I'm looking for such a role.
Some snow scenes.
Is anybody else burning through the earbuds like crazy? I feel like I'm buying a pair every six months.
My viking boys ("Erik" and "Strg") and me ("Libaloba") have successfully pounded the Bonemass!
Preparation:
- we built an artificial cliff with a portal to our home
- we stocked up on health food (sausages, carrot soup)
- we upgraded our iron gear
- we tried to fence off a couple of the nearby crypts, so that they're not in the immediate line of sight, and so that we can hide.
We started with fire arrows, but they didn't do much. So we just dug in and started pounding him, and beat him with only one death. Now we need a bit more iron, and then off to the mountains.
- There's a trillion of #sqlite databases out there
- SQLite is not open source (it's public domain)
- You can insert "YOLO" into an integer column
That and other facts:
What is this?

This is sometimes so frustrating, people think they're smart but they're just making problems for down the line:
