Notes on the new KDE Linux (alpha just got released) from this article:

• immutable distro, based on mkosi
• can't extend the base image like Fedora atomic
• UEFI only, Wayland only, they only look forward
• the old KDE Neon was held down because it's Ubuntu LTS base, it's tricky to build and use on top of modern stuff
• they have good ideas, even end of life is built into the project (if they ever decide to shut it down).

Mostly it's a showcase distribution, "how KDE is meant to be used", but it's also supposed to be perfectly usable for day to day.

I'm sticking with KDE on a regular Fedora, that's bleeding edge enough, and it's flexible enough for my piddly fiddling. But I think it should be okay to install it to grandpa's computer instead of windows, for example.
