Bio
According to some, I'm avant-garde ;)
I try to stick to software development and engineering topics, often related to application development, but I also shitpost random stuff, occassionally about photography, (usually not more then) react to politics or economics.
My website is https://zlatko.dev but I less completely-infrequently post a photo or two to my photo gallery https://photos.zlatko.dev.
I also used to post at https://pixelfed.social/zlatko, and https://programming.dev/u/zlatko, and I'll occassionally swipe here and there.

"X is considered fast because of these reasons: 1. built in rust" - I don't think that's how it works though. I bet I can write very slow code even in rust. Of course low-level languages will have speed advantages. But shit's written in slow JavaScript and runs in mega-shitty electron package, but what it does can still be "fast". Depends on what you do. I agree that the thing may be fast, but not because rust is faster than other low-level stuff directly. Just don't. #performanceClaims
So how do people compile TypeScript for backend (think, Express and MongoDB) these days? Esbuild still the simplest thing around?
My kids' piano teacher is also a composer and he invited us to a concert where, among others, one of his pieces is also performed. A few fun things to note:
- first date in like two years I have with my wife is in a church
- when you're there just for music, the talks in between the music bits are more prominent if it's not in your primary language
- I miss singing in an a cappella group
- I listened Adam Neely too much and now see how much the "classical" music is influenced by a few long-dead Germans.
"A queue is a machine for turning rpc calls into full disks." oh, what a bag of jewels this article is :)

Poor internet, they all thought zig is dead. Don't worry, you'll still be able to compile your C++ things with zig:

Hey git gurus, is git worktree useful (in the sense of, say, having `dev` or `release/something` branch constantly checked out as a separate worktree, so that you can always go to a working thing? What are the usual use-cases and workflows for worktrees? #git
