Bio
According to some, I'm avant-garde ;)
I try to stick to software development and engineering topics, often related to application development, but I also shitpost random stuff, occassionally about photography, (usually not more then) react to politics or economics.
My website is https://zlatko.dev but I less completely-infrequently post a photo or two to my photo gallery https://photos.zlatko.dev.
I also used to post at https://pixelfed.social/zlatko, and https://programming.dev/u/zlatko, and I'll occassionally swipe here and there.

Updated my gotosocial instance to 0.10. Now to figure out how the nice new goodies work.

My kids and I just made a computer #game! It'll think of a number between 1 and 5, and then let the player try to guess it, until they guess right. We played a few rounds.
We counted, it was 18 lines of (#javascript) code. Then we looked at some other games and programs with a lot more lines of code and thought about how much one can learn to get to that many LoC :)
(FWIW at my company I think we're at like 360k or so.)
So...what program do we build next?
God damn, this pisses me off. 'Next.js now collects anonymous telemetry.' Installing something I didn't even know had next.js sends telemetry out there, without your knowing it. Why couldn't the EU make it all opt-in instead of opt-out? #nextjs #telemetry #privacy #rant
Silence is golden
When you are looking at an email, sometimes it's best to just shut up and get out of the way.

"Why it's necessary to shoot yourself in the foot"
Really good read, I very much agree. When I teach people tech stuff, I try to present things this way. "We can do the stupid simple. Problem solved. Oh, wait, just one more use case?" Problem barely solved. But here's another way..."
