I try to stick to software development and engineering topics, often related to application development, but I also shitpost random stuff, occassionally about photography, (usually not more then) react to politics or economics.

Great news, everyone! Apparently I've been complaining loudly and frequently about having to suffer the mac, and my boss said, "hey, I've secured a Windows laptop for you that you can convert into a Linux machine".
Using a mac is really a disruptive experience for me.

Is there some begginer friendly reading that can help me wrap my brain around the "maybe yes maybe no" superstate? I understand what they're saying but I'm not able to grasp the concept exactly.

God damn it, I don't know why they praise macs so far. It's so inflexible, inconsistent, impossible to set up to my usage. I have to use TOUCHPAD of all things to move around efficiently. I am sooo frustrated.
Am I just too old for this shit? Has anybody transitioned from #linux to #macos (after a decade or two, no n00b takes please) and felt as productive, ever? How long did it take you?
Who ever made the switch and felt that the mac is BETTER? If you did, what kind of work do you do? What are some tips to stop feeling so frustrated?
Nope, Mastodon github links do not work with #gotosocial. I think great things about mastodon, but the fact that in this matter, extending the standard and doing their thing, mastodon is similar to the known Microsoft policies. It's more then likely unintentional, I know, but perhaps these problems can be better communicated.
